I hate you....

OMG... I HATE QANTAS now!!!!

Apparently, there are NO MORE seats to Cairns via Brisbane OR Darwin for either 21st or the 22nd June!! And its only mid April now god damn it!!!

According to the tour agencies, flights are super limited for Qantas from Sin to Brisbane or Darwin, not the transit from the latter to Cairns!! They used to have direct flights to Cairns but not anymore since too little people head there.

I mean, i didnt know that many people are DYING to travel to Brisbane or Darwin!!! Thanks for snapping up the cheap tickets!!!!

It is suppose to cost like 850 nett, but because they are full, if we still want to go, we have to pay for premium seats that cost 1230 nett. PREPOSTEROUS!!!!!!!!!!!! And i cant fly SQ because it cost more and i still need to do a transit over to qantas. Only cost me more.

So that's it. Had to give up Cairns. The rest of the airlines have no air traffic rights to aussie. Qantas sucks.

No Great barrier reef. No snorklling with the fishes. No white water rafting. No hot air ballooning. PISSSSSSSSSES me OFFFFFF!!!!

But on a side note, we did end up booking a tour to Japan.

After all that talk about going to a cold country, we end up in Japan. Fucking hot there.

Well the price was pretty reasonable, since their airport tax is pretty low now. Just that their exchange rate is super SUCKY now. But the tour has mostly inclusive meals so i shouldn't need to change too much cash.

As usual, the tour will be bringing us to Tokyo disneyland, and thank god i have banana with me for all the thrilling rides!! WOOT!!!

But for now, i need to concentrate on my studies. T.T

just one

I feel like i'm knee deep in shit.

Why do i always procrastinate and push back work when it could have been done much earlier?

I have exactly less than 3 weeks before the accounting exams. I am not feeling very confident.

I have not touched my managerial econs since March when i took the prelims. I am in such deep shit.

And i actually passed hrm prelims by only 1 mark, despite feeling pretty good about it when i completed the paper. Sometimes i wonder why i always end up picking subjects that only know how to kick me up the ass. I should have just played it safe and picked something easy like esap , but i just had to take hrm, thinking it'll just be like ibm, where i get to memorise a bunch of stuff and regurgitate the shitpile during the exams.

I hate hrm for making my life miserable. It is prolly the 1st subject that i have a HUGE reservation about, because memorising is just never going to be enough.

I am soooo DEAD.

I shall now solemly promise myself that i shall at least practice a bit of this accounting b4 bed and start on ME tomorrow night. No more bumming around!! Got to get serious!! OFF!

**

Went to Tampines one.

Why do people queue up to go into uniclo?

Are these people that deperate to get their very own japanese-branded clothing? Or are they just too tight-assed and POOR to buy from GAP, so you have to get something that sorta represent the american clothing line in the form of japanese tailoring when its just another piece of Giodano look-alike.

Anyhoo, i had dinner at Manpuku.

And it wasn't great. Many of the nice dishes were NOT available. It just SUCKED. And their desserts, disappointing. Only the cakes were awesome but very expensive. I still think Shokudo has more variety.

Went with the gang to the sake inn to buy some sake since nessa's bday was on saturday. Melon wine. :D Very fragrent, but it wasnt as sweet as what i had expected. $23 for a bottle. Someone get me a savignon blanc instead please.

Trottled along and headed for some yoghurt. I loved the peach yoghurt with caramel sauce. Both are fat-free. Wooopie.

Then we ravaged through yamakawa. Made chunie identify word after word of hiragana  on those cute little packaging. I'm still learning, but at the moment, i am still struggling to memorise a,e,i,o,u so let's keep it at that.
And i bought mentaiko pasta sauce!!! Cannot wait to try them out on my pasta!

**

Going out tomorrow with the gang to check out travel agencies. We're going overseas again!

Last time we went to Taiwan was 2 years ago. Had to make a few compromises and there was some upset about for the flights and the way things were managed but we got over that and had fun in the end.

We're thinking of going down under either to Aussie or New Zealand this time because everywhere else is fucking HOT in june.

Nessa and chun has this list of cities that we cannot go to - Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and Adelaide - the few of us have been there before, and its pretty boring so we aren't going to go back there. So current choices are like, Cairns, Tasmania, Canberra?, but we're trying to get new zealand, though we only have 6 days, because chunie was only able to get that little days off.

You figured she could just stay till the 6th day before hitching a ride home via SQ from NZ since she's a stewardess, and allow us to stay on longer,  but unfortunately it doesn't seem to work that way.

So cross the fingers cuz i still want to get NZ.

Need to get back to my promise.

violence is not the answer, but its not the problem either

So the other day i was bumming around on my laptop, when i had this crazy idea to download all the good old games that i played when i was a kid on the old pock pock computer from the 90s.

Went to my trusty little site and i bagged them all - Doom (whole series), duke nukem 3D. They were frigging awesome, just like the way they were when i played them when i was 7.

And i am still relying on those ancient memory!! I mean, i can actually sorta remember where the secret passages are, though i forgot a few, and nearly got KO-ed on one level by that monster LAPD hog.

I know people say that Doom is terribly violent and that duke nukem should be banned for all the gore and sexually biased comments, but i played them in the 90s and hell they were fun and also introduced by my mum.

My dad was always frowning when he saw the way i blew up those monsters into bits and he disliked the disembowelment as well as the bloody scenes, but given the technology back than, they looked pretty fake, so i wasn't really bothered.

And if gaming violence could provoke violent tendencies, this world would now be in utter and complete chaos. As what research has proven, there is NO confirmed linkage of such violent tendencies to gaming. So stop twaddling.

Anyhoo, they are frigging awesome games :D Thank god they are XP compatible!!

To be honest, the gore and violence isnt really much, and if u compare it today to games like house of the dead 4, its really nothing. Just that the monsters are really bloody-ass ugly.

And i have set my sights on wanting the Devil may cry 4 game!! It was only released for Xbox and playstation 3, and since i am not planning on getting either, i can only get the PC version, but i checked the price out at challengers and nearly bulked at the inane price of $46. T.T

Shit if you have seen devil may cry, you'll agree that the game totally kicks some serious ass. I only played it up to part 3 on my ps2 and i was sorely pissed to know that version 4 was for a newer platform. Way to go for companies like sony to ditch their loyal customers like that.

Plus i so prefer playing that to final fantasy. I even find the characters more appealing than those from final fantasy. :D:D

I would get it off the internet but, you have no idea how the thought of extracting 7gb worth of files through lousy seedings and at a miserly rate of 10kb/s eats away at the very core of my impatient mind. Its just not fucking worth it.

But i am too blased to buy it.

I am such a nutter.

Oh my god... i want it.. T.T

But i don't want to buy it.

Cuz i'm broke.

I need to saveeee.

I need to get a wii world tour set.

And i need a holiday.

Badly.

I am so out of here.

not dead yet

Well i pretty much left this place to rot. Have been really busy, and, i kind of created a blog with my livejournal account, which i originally created simply to get my yaoi manga scans.

But anyhoo, i still like blogdrive because it is so god damn simple to use. I should change the skin or something but i am just lazy. So yeah.

In other news, i have finished my prelims. Woohoo to me. Now i just need to recollect my thoughts and focus on let's see.... every freaking subject? This year's subjects are definitely more difficult than last year's foundation units. I fucking hate managerial economics. It's just too difficult. I couldnt answer the complusory questions in section A, so i crapped something out.

Worse part is that its likely wrong, since it is like an advance version times 100 of A maths.

And accounting was shitty. The trial balance put out a bunch of things which were too complicated to adjust and i couldnt balance it. Missed by about 20k. That's a lot of missing money lol.

I don't even have much to hope for the written subjects. I actually did hrm under the guidence of my notes though at least i did savour some kind of pride in doing otia completely note-less!! Still, e-prelims is a stupid option. Whoever came up with that idea ought to be strangled. I cant believe i pay the same amount of money for my school fees as last year, but instead of sending my papers off via first class air all the way to london, they pocketed my money and send the lot via the internet.

If we had freedom of speech in this country, i assure you, you'll see the lot of us picketing right outside the school pretty much around last month demanding our money back.

**

In additional other news, i watched the shopaholic movie. No not in the cinema. I'm not saying where.

Point is - it sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok if you think that harry potter movies are bad because they deviate from the books, well, let's just say that confessions of a shopaholic is even worse!!

Everything was changed!! They combined book 1 and 2, and they did CRAZY changes that completely goes out the bounds of the book.

Ok so spoiler for you if you intend to watch this movie:

Firstly, Rebbecca bloomwood moved to New york. Funny thing that they showed the parents in new york too. How the hell could they end up there when they were originally from london?

And in the beginnning, becky was not already working in successful savings as mentioned in the very first book, but was working at some god knows what kind of desk job.

Later on in the movie, they showed her trying to get to an interview for a job at Elite magazine but was rejected because Alicia took it. Weird!! Alicia was supposed to be an associate for luke brandon at brandons comm!! To give it any credit, at least the girl playing Alicia looked like the bitch she was suppose to look like.

Then they introduced luke brandon to becky in the movie, at a hotdog stand!! Ok, spoilt.

And he lent her money to buy that green danny and george scarf. Hold on, wasnt it grey in the books?

And oh it gets better, luke brandon in the movie, is the editior of successful savings! Yes what the hell happened to corporate luke, CEO of brandom comm?

And then Alicia tried to date luke - haha very funny, that could never happen in a million years in the books.

Suzie and tarquin got married. That wasnt suppose to happen till book 3. And worse still, in book 1, tarquin was suppose to be hitting on becky. And he was supposed to look like a stoat, but he ended up looking like a mini version of luke brandon.

The movie portrayed Derek smith in very bad light. He was such a nice guy in the books!

They changed the reason as to why becky got to go on television, but had Derek smith reveal on national television that she was up to her eyeballs in debt, in front of luke brandon. This scene was just so wrong. Like i said, Derek smith is a sweetie in the books, he would never do anything this mean to becky.

I kind of lost my train of thoughts, but never mind.

Case in point, this movie is a disaster. I cannot believe that sophie kinsella would actually approve of a movie which has supposedly and pretty much changed everything within the contents of her book.

In fact, nessa and i were most disappointed with the guy acting as luke brandon.

Like come on, he's luke brandon. He's supposed to be fucking good looking!

In fact, we both spent like a nice time in our school's computer lab, reading through other people's suggestions for which actor would suit the role of Luke. It was a blast. 3/4 of the names nominated/suggested was terrible!! But hey we had nothing to do and we were trying to kill time so we read them.

Long story short. Don't bother watching it unless you can do so without paying.

And a holly jolly bloody new year to all of you

I can't believe its that time of the year again! Goodbye 2008, and hello 2009. Frankly speaking, i don't really look forward to 2009, because that would mean that i'll be hitting the big 2-2..  T^T. Didn't i just celebrate my 21st 6 months back? I still feel 21. I wanna be 21. No, actually, i wanna be 20. No.. 19 sounds better.

Ha! I'm only 21 and i'm in absolute denial over my age. I shall repeat this rant when May arrives. Wait, that would mean that the exams, since... ARGHH.. i hate the initial 6 months of the year.

**

Caught twilight with banana on monday.

Terrible with a capital T.

Yes yes, i hate robert patterson with a vengence,  his acting is terrible! I mean, he sounded like such a DORK when he opened his mouth for the first time to talk to Bella. He was suppose to sound sophistcated, since the book mention that his voice is suppose to knock the wind out of any girl.

Well i got the wind knocked out of me alright, in a bad way.

And there were times whereby Edward seemed to be STARING rather zombish-ly into the camera. FREAKY!

And oh my god, the scripts were so bad! The main characters would just talk and talk and talk, and it seemed never ending considering the fact that they were beating about the bush, and not straight to the point.

Instead, i found that the supporting characters/calefares to have done a terrific job. They were so true to their roles and they brought so much life to the dull characters that they undertook. But i thought Eric was supposed to be a white boy... wasn't sure why they got an asian to portray eric, but hey, that guy did a great job, and me and banana agreed that he looked so much like wang renfu. Epic.

Oh and the glitter part was GAY GAY GAY. I never liked the fact that stephenie meyer came up with the whole - vampires glitter under sunlight - theory, just because women like diamonds. In my opinion, it sounded as if vampire SWEAT glitter.

So yes, movie was overrated. Since they are going to be changing the Jacob character, if the guy's going to be hotter, then yes, i'll probably go back and watch new moon, since jacob is going to to be in like 3/4 of the movie with edward out of the picture.

**

I also caught Australia today with zinc and bokai.

And omg, Australia turned out to be really good!

We didnt really know what we could watch, and we just choose Australia, simply because i don't want to watch Ip Man, or pride and glory. Plus zinc already caught Yes man.

It was really good.

I don't know why the critics hated nicole kidman's performance. I thought she did an excellent job. Then again, the critics never liked anything she did, they even hated her moulin rouge performance. What nonsense. She was prefect in that show too.

Anyway, the cast was good, Hugh Jackman sizzled the screen. There was a nosebleed worthy moment in one scene early into the movie. HOT HOT HOT! Holy shit. Unfortunately, i still have to give more love to Christian Bale.  Bale is just too sexy for words.. *swoons* The only reason why i may have to watch the terminator salvation.

I won't say anything else, since Australia is a movie that stands out on its own. Love it.

Only draw back is that the show is 2h45mins long. Better go to the loo early before the show starts.

**

Just saw the fireworks from my house. My mum claims they are from marina bay. I have no idea, but its free fireworks viewing from our house, so i'm not complaining.

Goodbye 2008. I'm not too sure 2008 was a great year.. but there's really no point dawdling there since time awaits no one.

Happy 2009!

Booohoooo exams....

We wish you a fatty christmas..

This christmas sure is a FATTENING one!!

BBQ at zinc's for her 21st was so-so. Well she invited quite a number of her uni friends and all i can say is luckily for me, there is still a bunch of us poly mates to hang around at the KLK corner LOL. So it was still fun, except that the RC senior citizens sharing the other side of the pit seem to be having more fun boozing and eating high class food. They had egg tarts pre-ordered from the chef of shang-ri-la, who was supposedl a friend of theirs. Damn atas can!

And old people really can drink.

We were pretty much staring at their food. Because while ours were mainly barbequed stuff, they had catered food, plus hotel catered food plus a nice array of booze. Well we had a lot too like choya and even red wine, but damn, i wanted their egg tarts!!

And the next day, had to head over to nessa's house for her christmas party. Usual food like turkey and ham, courtesy of nessa's top chef of a father. And we had a christmas exchange, which was basically nessa's worst exchange ever. Her luck's pretty bad when it comes to exchanges, but this year really tops everything else. HAHA.. It's prolly sitting somewhere, ROTTING on a neglected corner of a table.

Went for tuition today and the tutee's mum gave me a bag.. Which was very kind of her. I thought most parents really don't bother giving christmas gifts, i mean, they are already paying us a nice lump sum.. but i'm not complaining.

And i heart today's dinner. Had german pork knuckle. Was too full to squeeze in any ham, but none shall be wasted because i intend to make myself a nice sandwich for friday's class. Hooray for leftovers!

Oh and some super dated photos. Post for the sake of making this entry NOT photo-lagging.

Had waraku dinner before watching madagascar 2 at my mum's company family movie gathering. Was sick of always having curry, so i decided to have a set. Cold soba, with Cold udon and a bowl of pork katsu. And it was so worth it, only 15bucks!! I didn't expect so much soba, and the pork katsu was so THICK, like 1 inch thick! Makes you wonder why the hell we are still eating the normal flat flat pork katsu elsewhere.

I couldn't finish of course, but i made sure i ate 3/4 of the katsu before passing it to my brother, who was eyeing my dish the entire time.

Speaking of which, while he was stealing some of my udon, he got pricked by a wooden splinter that came with the box. And the splinter was damn long! So it pricked the roof of his mouth.

Mother called the manager out and the staff started congregating at the corner, while sneaking stares at us once in a while. LOL. My brother got pretty scarred after that and would not touch my udon.

Anyway, it was such a stomp moment.

But the manager was really nice and he gave us complimentary orange juice, ice cream dessert and even a 20% discount on the entire meal. My brother was agog at the great service and promptly annouced that the savings we made be donated to him.

Alright, i need to prep my assignment for friday. T.T I hate doing homework on christmas.

Merry Christmas!

when the earth stills, i fall asleep

I'm sorry but i had a certain amount of expectations when i watched the day the earth stood still, and the only disappointing factor was how little action was involved in such a huge budget movie, given the fact that the show revolves around ALIENS.

In fact, i felt that the show could have been lifted to a whole new level, and involve much more CGI with how the aliens started destroying the earth. I mean, having small little mini bugs, which multiply at an exponential rate and even faster when attacked, going around eroding everything was cool for the first few minutes. After that, i was actually waiting for something else to bring out the raw supreme power that aliens technology should have been about.

Still, Keanu Reeves was excellent as klaatu the alien. He was entirly believable, given his stoic and emotionless expressions, and after all, he has always done well in supernatural themed shows. But this is prolly one of the few shows where he has HARDLY any action-role. I just miss all the crazy-assed action he did on the matrix trilogy and my personal favourite; constantine. It felt weird to see him just dormant.. without having to run or even jump about.

This is such a wasted role. As an alien he should have been out there doing all kinds of stunts.

But he still looks good at his age and my brother was pretty much agog to learn that he's already 44. Yes i know, he still looks like he's in his 30s. What the hell kind of facial care products has he been using!!?

Ok, so in short, the movie is simply about the aliens arriving on earth, to exterminate the humans. Apparently, earth is just one of the many planets belonging to a group of extra terrestrial life-forms out there in the universe. And because humans have been abusing our planet, they decide to wipe out the entire human race, since it is the only species causing direct harm to earth - which they claim is one of their most unique planets with the ability to inhibit many different life forms that are precious and special.

I just wished there was more action. wasted wasted wasted WASTED!!

Oh and they even had keanu reeves speaking in chinese in one part, because he supposingly speaks to a fellow alien who had taken a form of an old chinese man. Hilarious! Well, not exactly the best of all accents, but i thought it was good effort on his part. He did nail quite a number of words well, but the audience was pretty busy laughing their asses off at some of the wrongly pronounced words.

Ok so maybe he didn't do that well, but i'm bias!

Still, its an ok movie to watch.

**

And i received this via email from a friend, freaking FUNNY!! :

Subj: Sad News

Please join me in remembering a great icon of the entertainment community. The Pillsbury Doughboy died yesterday of a yeast infection and trauma complications from repeated pokes in the belly. He was 71.

Doughboy was buried in a lightly greased coffin. Dozens of celebrities turned out to pay their respects, including Mrs. Butterworth, Hungry Jack, the California Raisins, Betty Crocker, the Hostess Twinkies, and Captain Crunch. The grave site was piled high with flours.

Aunt Jemima delivered the eulogy and lovingly described Doughboy as a man who never knew how much he was kneaded.

Doughboy rose quickly in show business, but his later life was filled with turnovers. He was not considered a very smart cookie, wasting much of his dough on half-baked schemes. Despite being a little flaky at times, he still was a crusty old man and was considered a positive roll model for millions.

Doughboy is survived by his wife Play Dough, three children: John Dough, Jane Dough and Dosey Dough, plus they had one in the oven. He is also survived by his elderly father, Pop Tart.

The funeral was held at 3:50 for about 20 minutes.

If this made you smile for even a brief second, please rise to the
occasion and take time to pass it on and share that smile with someone else who may be having a crumby day and kneads a lift

Too funny!! Play dough!! John and jane doe. lol... and POP TART!! LOL.. i love pop tarts!! YUMMY!!

This holiday is going to be a fattening one. There's zinc's saturday birthday bbq, sunday at nessa's for the usual christmas gathering, have an outing on monday, family christmas feast on christmas eve, christmas lunch with relatives on christmas day, followed by dinner at another relatives, and equinox buffet lunch on the 27th. FAT FAT FAT!!!

**

Oh and i'll bet loads of people know about the IE problem by now. What with microsoft being entirely USELESS and slow with the impending hacking through IE, this is definitely the best time to start switching browser. Better yet, go APPLE.

Am just glad that i ditched IE years ago for firefox.

My mum said that her company has issued an email to all staff to stop using IE, and to download firefox or google chrome as an alternate browser until they get the latest patch for IE.

Sounds pretty serious to me if big companies are resorting to such measures to protect their files and infomation.

oh well... hooray for firefox..

Oh and i forgot to mention: I passed my driving test!

My parents still cant quite get over the fact that i passed on the first attempt, i mean a few of my cousins took at least 2-3 attempts on an auto car.

I thought i was going to fail since the tester had to swerve my car back while i was doing lane changing because a KIAM PA taxi tried to run me down!! I mean i saw that the taxi was really far back, which meant i could change lane, but apparently he sped up while i was doing so.

Must have been some bitter uncle, who saw an opportunity to bully an L plate taking a TEST! Had a 10 point deduction for that. Could have been an immediate fail but the tester did say that i was ok on the road, except for my infrequent checking of the side mirrors.

So now that i pass, i'm so going to miss my driving teacher now. No one to sit next and crap to you while nagging about road safety. And no one to hit the brakes for us in dangerous situations. Booo. But i am so going to get the car out soon and drive to whitesands, or just go around the car park for the first few times.

back for a while, gone in a second

Haven blogged for a long time.

I'm just a lazy bum.

Just weeks ago i was super-rifically busy. There was either a test or assignment every week, plus there are things to attend to, places to go, games to play and a multitude of socializing to get to.

What i want for christmas now is a new wardrobe. My clothes are practically over flowing. I don't know why, but i know for one that i am an untidy sloth, but sometimes when i get bitten by the packing bug, i just get that crazy urge to clear everything out and just rearrange everything.

And it just sucks when i start because i simply can't stop and i get very anal with the way i rearrange the things. And i just rearranged everything a few months ago, how the hell did it get that messy again?!!

And i read on jes's blog that she went into the lift at her hdb there and saw a pile of SAI in the corner. Like EWW!! I can imagine the smell. URGHHHH. I feel sick just thinking about it.

And jes being jes, lived up to her cam whoring fame, couldn't resist taking a picture of it.

I don't know about her phone, but if i did, i bet my LG viewty will just "nua" and melt in my hand after that.

And then after reading bout that incicdent, i was on my way home the other day after my driving lesson from ubi. Took bus 58, and somehow, when the bus was passing this stretch of road that connects ubi to the bedok resevoir " nearing TP in other words", there was HORRIBLE stench that suddnely just infiltrated the air in the bus.

Next thing u know, every single person in the bus was pinching their noses and staring accusingly at one another.

I cannot even begin to describe how utterly putrid and god damn RETECHING the smell was. I  mean if it was B.O or just BAD hygiene, it would have been bearing but not this stench. IT was like a combination of rotten eggs, coupled with the smell of bad diarrhea and VOMIT. Oh god, the vomit smell was the most convulsive one.

And i just didn't know where the hell the smell came from. Because the bus was on that stretch of road, no one came onto the bus, and the smell just emitted itself out of nowhere after a 10minutes non-stop journey.

And then everyone who boarded the bus after that kept holding their noses.

There was this group of guys who came on, and the moment they sat down, they started pulling their shirts over their noses, and a few even started to smell themselves because they thought it was them. And when they got off, the whole group inspected the bases of their shoes to check if they stepped on anything.

And i don't know why, but i kind of latched on to the whole thing and i wanted to laugh at everyone's expression. And it just made me feel very oxymoronic. Which made the whole situation even more laughable.

Sometimes i just don't get myself.

But Hell, i still wanted to know where that horrible smell came from. And i had this nagging feeling at the back of my head that someone must have vomitted at the top deck. I mean, that was the only logical reason for the overpowering replusive vomit / rotten eggs smell, seeing that everyone in the lower deck looked perfectly alright.

And no, it was not the smell of someone shitting their pants because.. well.. shit just smells like bad poop. But vomit.. has all the contents of whatever a fellow has been eating.. and URGHH the smell is worse!!!!  rotten eggs!!

**

In other news, i am going to catch the day the world stood still with my brother next week. I know i can watch it online, but seriously.. keanu reeves is in it. And bloody hell keanu reeves looks hot. So i must must catch it at the movies. I think he acts really well in movies which requires him to be cool and stoic. lovely.

And after that twilight. Just so that i can complain how pallid and terrible robert p. is as edward.
